I was just reading the LOLcode 1.2 spec and laughing, predictably, out loud. There is a PHP-based parser that I will probably have to start playing with. After I knock out a couple simple Rails apps to get the feel of Ruby, of course.

It’s been much hotter than we thought it would be for us down here. We were expecting low 80s and got mid 90s. So freakin’ hot.

first day, part one

We were actually up and out of the room at 7:45 this morning and took the monorail over to Disneyland. First thing, we rode a ride that none of us had been on, the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

Waited an hour. Not worth it. The Nemo ride at Epcot in Orlando is much better. After that though, we had a very productive morning: Alice in Wonderland, breakfast at the River Belle Terrace, Pirates, Indy, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, and Splash Mountain.

Thoroughly douched, we’re now back in the room for a little R&R before heading back out there this evening, probably to Tomorrowland. Jungle Cruise is great after dark, as is the Matterhorn. Still so many options!

Tomorrow, California Adventure for sure.

So let’s see… Eric’s showering now, Sarah and Heather already have, and I did last night so we’re almost ready to go. First ride on deck: Nemo.

Last night we got to the hotel around 11:30 and had a late dinner and some drinks at the Lost Bar. Neat place, and the food was a decent value, considering the $8 nachos came with chicken… and were the size of a fucking microwave oven. For srs.

Almost fantasy baseball season again

It’s getting close to fantasy baseball season again. Mock Drafts are being run around the web (shocker: #1 ADP for mixed leagues is A-Rod, almost unanimously), blogs are heating up, and sign ups on sites start in the next few weeks.

My biggest dilemma is how many to play.

Last year I played six, did horribly in three, won one, and did alright in two more, making the playoffs. It was too many teams, I think. Thing is, I’m already locked in and committed to three leagues, and maybe a fourth, with an expectation that I will join a fifth.

Locked In:
Scoresheet (#1/10 last year, keeper league, 2nd year, AL-only sim)
A’s Rule (Jeremy’s league, #7/10 last year, keeper league, 3rd year, mixed H2H)
8th Season (Zach/warmsox’s league, #3/10 last year, keeper league, 2nd year, mixed Roto)

Probably In:
East Baysball (#3/8 last year, keeper league, 4th year, someone else needs to step up to be Commissioner, however, AL-only points)

Will Be Expected To Join:
RvB League (#9/14 last year, redraft league, 4th year, mixed H2H)

This is all the leagues I was in last year, minus a mixed Roto league with the goons from the Something Awful forums, in which I finished dead last out of 12 teams. I won’t need to go back there.

So that’s 4-5 leagues already. I can’t possibly add any more, I guess. But evs. Mock Drafts are starting and I have to figure out who my sleepers are this year! Woohoo!
